If you like horror games, chances are good you’ve been hearing a lot about Amnesia: Rebirth. The newest release from developer Frictional Games has arrived just in time for Halloween, carrying all of the terror that fans have come to expect from the series. But before you buy a copy, you may be interested in learning how long it takes to beat Amnesia: Rebirth. Fortunately, this is a straightforward question to answer.
How long to beat Amnesia: Rebirth?
It will take between 7 and 10 hours to beat Amnesia: Rebirth. The exact amount of time it will take largely depends on your own skill. Seasoned horror fans could beat the game in around 7 hours, while players who want to see everything will probably take around 10 or so hours.
With all that said, don’t go in expecting a lengthy experience. The main story itself only takes around 7 hours to complete, assuming you don’t rush through things. Still, even if you stop to smell the undead roses, you’d struggle to get more than about 10 hours of play time, unless you simply don’t know where to go. If you absolutely want to see everything there is to see, including reading up on lore, you could possibly stretch it to about 12 hours.
Any amount of time more than that would be reserved exclusively for diehard followers of the series. Of course, for those types, the news is good. Rebirth was developed by the same studio that made 2010’s Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Rebirth also marks the studio’s latest horror release following Soma, which released for PC and PlayStaton 4 in 2015.
Make no mistake, Amnesia: Rebirth is not a long game. Most players are likely to beat it in under 10 hours, leaving very few stones unturned. For everyone else, how much time you’ll ultimately spend getting freaked out is entirely up to your individual tastes.
