Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War anti-cheat

Is there Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War anti-cheat?

Is there a Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War anti-cheat system? Past CoD games have encountered major issues with cheaters using hacks. Does that look set to change in the upcoming Black Ops sequel, though? Get the latest on anti-cheat in CoD: Black Ops Cold War for PC.

CoD: Black Ops Cold War Anti-Cheat | Is Activision stopping hackers?

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War anti-cheat

Playing against cheaters is incredibly frustrating in Call of Duty. Frankly, they spoil the fun for everyone — even those on consoles now that cross-play is a thing. The one surefire way to stop hackers from ruining an online experience is by implementing robust anti-cheat software; this has CoD fans hoping for a major security upgrade in Black Ops Cold War on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Series S.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War does feature anti-cheat measures, though they didn’t prove very effective during the beta. Many console players were forced to disable cross-play in order to get away from PC hackers, with some even sharing killcam footage as proof of the issue(s). Credible leaks suggest that Black Ops Cold War could feature improved anti-cheat, though it isn’t clear whether or not that had been (or ever will be) implemented yet.

CoD leaker @ModernWarzone suggested back in September that “ACTUAL anti-cheat” was in the works for Black Ops Cold War, suggesting that the series would receive an upgrade. The tweet (below) continued: “Here’s to hoping it works, and that it comes to fruition upon release.”

There are a few possibilities when it comes to the rumored new Call of Duty anti-cheat. It might not have been ready for the Black Ops Cold War beta, it might not work efficiently, or the rumors could be false. Hopefully, it’s not one of the latter two options, as significant improvements need to be made in this area.
