Will there be a Silent Hill 2 GOG release? The recent release of Silent Hill 4: The Room on GOG has some players wondering if Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 2, and Silent Hill 3 will be coming to GOG or another platform at some point in the future.
Is a Silent Hill 2 PC release likely?
DRM-free games retailer GOG released Silent Hill 4: The Room on its platform following an earlier launch of other Konami games like Metal Gear Solid. Silent Hill 4: The Room is the first game from the franchise made available on GOG, and that has players wondering about a Silent Hill 2 PC release. Silent Hill 2 is a survival horror game with secrets that took fans years to uncover, so the excitement over a potential Silent Hill 2 PC release is certainly understandable.
If players don’t want to wait for a Silent Hill 2 GOG release, there is always the option to buy one of the existing physical copies of the game. Unfortunately, there are not many copies of the original PC release available for sale and players will have to pay a serious premium to secure a physical disc.
Will there be a Silent Hill 1 PC release?
Unfortunately, it is unlikely that there will be a Silent Hill 1 PC release anytime soon. Silent Hill 1 was a PlayStation exclusive and it was never officially ported to PC. Players are still hoping for a remaster as rumors of a new title regularly appear, although Konami has denied that any new Silent Hill games are in production.
Will there be a Silent Hill 3 PC release?
Silent Hill 3 was also ported to PC several months after its launch, so it’s possible that we may see a digital version of the game made available in the future. As with the Silent Hill 2 PC release, the PC version of Silent Hill 3 previously received a physical release many years ago. A player can buy a Silent Hill 3 PC disc and it won’t be quite as expensive as buying a physical PC version of Silent Hill 2.
