How to get Platinum Camo in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Customizing your weapon is a big part of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare experience. Fortunately, the game provides loads of different ways to deck out your gun. Aside from earning various attachments, learning how to unlock camouflage patterns will be a top priority for many players. There are fourteen different patterns you can unlock, including the prized platinum camouflage. However, if you want to get platinum camo for your gun, you’re going to have to put in some work.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - How to get Platinum Camo

To get the platinum camo for a gun in Modern Warfare, need to complete every camo challenge for every weapon of the same type. That means you can only unlock the platinum camouflage once you’ve completed at least ten challenges for every single weapon in the same class.

In other words, it’s not easy. Each gun in Modern Warfare has ten basic camouflage patterns that are unlocked through separate challenges. Once you complete all ten challenges with a single weapon, you’ll unlock the gold camo for that weapon.

To get the platinum camouflage, you’ll have to repeat that process for every single gun in the class. That’s 50 separate challenges for shotguns, 90 for SMGs, and 120 challenges for assault rifles.

This is one reason why platinum guns carry so much prestige. They show a complete mastery for a given type of weapon.

While this may seem like a total chore, there is a silver lining. Since unlocking platinum camo requires completing all other weapon camo challenges, hitting the unlock requirement for one weapon will unlock it for all weapons in its class.

After that, there’s one more camouflage tier to reach: Damascus. It can only be unlocked after you get platinum camo for every single weapon in the game. This will take a lot of time, so load up Modern Warfare and start going after those camouflage challenges.
