PUBG - How to use the Scope on PS4 and Xbox One

PUBG | How to use the Scope on PS4 and Xbox One

If you’re just now picking up PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the game’s control scheme may seem a bit confusing. After all, it’s one of only a handful of modern shooters that allow you to swap between first- and third-person views at will. As such, the button you need to use the scope in PUBG may not work as you expect. As it turns out, there’s a little trick you need to use.

How to use the Scope in PUBG on PS4 and Xbox One

To use the scope in PUBG, you need to tap the left trigger. That’s L2 on PS4 or LT on Xbox One. The left trigger is used to toggle the scope view on and off. Tap once to use the scope, then tap again to return to the default view.

Of course, you can’t actually use a scope unless you have one equipped to your weapon. Unlike in other shooter games, you’ll need to find and equip a scope before it can be used. Not every weapon has a scope, and not every gun can equip one.

This control scheme seems to get a lot of players mixed up. That’s probably because most first-person shooters require you to hold the left trigger to use the scope. In PUBG, holding L2 or LT does allow you to aim down the sights (ADS), but it doesn’t let you look through a scope. Instead, you need to tap the trigger to toggle the scope view.

It may take some getting used to, but don’t worry, you’ll get the hang of it quickly. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a unique experience for a lot of reasons, including its control scheme. Fortunately, the scope view is still the button you would expect it to be — you just need to tap it instead of holding it down. Easy peasy.
