The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Cross-Gen Edition is a strange new development for the next console generation. You won’t be able to get a free upgrade if you buy the game for PS4 or Xbox One; rather, you’ll have to buy this Cross-Gen Bundle. Pre-ordering this edition will, of course, give you access to the pre-order bonuses listed above.
Buying the Cross-Gen Edition for PS4 will entitle you to a free upgrade to the PS5 version of the game when it launches. Similarly, buying the Cross-Gen Edition for the Xbox One will entitle you to a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X version when it launches.
