General Tips

• Try to be stealthy at all times. The Evil Within is not an easy game, and getting the jump on enemies helps a lot.
• Stunned enemies can still be stealth killed, even from the front.
• All enemies aren't blind, so don't rely on your lantern too much. They will spot the light.
• Be on the lookout for keys. They allow you to unlock lockers in the morgue to receive extra items.
• Disarm traps to receive trap parts, which allow you to craft new bolts for the Agony Crossbow.
• Focus on headshots for the larger enemies.
• If you upgrade your health, you will be fully healed.
• Although disarming traps proves useful for trap parts, you can also use them to lure enemies and kill them.
• Shoot weaker enemies in the legs and then burn them with your matches.
• Save often. It's a simple but very important tip.

Developer Debug Codes



Before you launch The Evil Within from Steam, right-click on the game's title and select Properties. Then under the General tab, choose Set launch options.". Next, enter the following code to unlock the console: +com_allowconsole 1. Once you begin playing, you can press INSERT on your keyboard to access the console. Then you can enter the commands indicated below to activate the corresponding effects.

• R_swapinterval - Set the FPS lock to 30FPS (-2), 60 FPS (-1), or fully unlocked (0)
• God - God mode
• Noclip - You can walk through walls
• G_infiniteammo - Unlimited ammo (as long as you start with at least one bullet in your possession)
• G_stoptime 1 - Stops time
• G_stoptime 0 - Activates time once stopped
• Toggledebugcamera - Separates the camera from Sebastian
• R_forceaspectratio - Change aspect ratio (2.5 is default, 1.8 or 2 is recommended, 0 is full screen)
• Com_showFPS - Activates id’s native fps counter
• Startslowmotion2 - Enables slow motion
• Stopslowmotion - Disables slow motion

• High-Powered Sniper Rifle - Collect all map fragments
