When is the Nintendo Switch Pro coming out?

Switch Pro release date

The Nintendo Switch Pro release date is 2021. This is based on the current crop of rumors going around, anyway. We’ve been told before that a new, more powerful Nintendo Switch hardware version would be releasing in 2019, but that never happened. As always, it’s worth taking any such rumors like this one with a pinch of salt or two. As of writing, though, based on rumors the new 4K Nintendo Switch release date is 2021. Hopefully, sooner rather than later based on rumors of new games releasing alongside it, too.

We’d already seen some rumors recently on a new, more powerful Switch releasing in 2021, but now, these rumors have been added to and expanded on. According to Bloomberg, “the specifications of the new machine have yet to be finalized,” but Nintendo “has looked into… more computing power and 4K… graphics.”

According to the anonymous sources cited by Bloomberg, too, Nintendo will be releasing several first and third-party games alongside the rumored 4K Switch Pro release date. This, apparently, is another reason behind the “relatively quiet software release schedule” on the Switch in 2020. The likes of Doom Eternal, then, could be waiting for this more powerful Switch revision.

The rumored 4K Switch Pro release date is:

  • 2021
  • Could be capable of 4K visuals (while docked, presumably)
  • Should release with a selection of new first and third-party games
  • Could be a reason for the somewhat quiet 2020 release schedule from Nintendo

If the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro does release in 2o21, here are seven features we’d love it to have.
