To fix the Fall Guys “The matchmaker is currently down for maintenance” error, you simply have to wait patiently. You see, this is an error that appears when the servers are down. It isn’t anything to do with your system, be it PC or PS4, so there’s nothing that you can do to speed up the fix.
At the time of writing, Fall Guys is down for “a short period of planned maintenance.” For up to date information on when servers are going down and when you can expect them to be back up and running, the official @FallGuysOwl account is worth monitoring.

While there’s no ETA on when the servers will be back up, we’ve at least been told that it’s going to be a “short period.”
Prior to the error message showing up on the screen, we saw notice saying that the game was preparing for “increased capacity,” so perhaps this server maintenance is being used to bolster the backend, allowing more players to enjoy the game.
