spongebob battle for bikini bottom rehydrated who voices mr krabs

Who is the Mr. Krabs voice actor in SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated?

The Mr. Krabs voice actor in SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is different from the actor fans may recognize from the animated TV series. As fans have noticed, the voice actor for Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob: Rehydrated is Joe Whyte, replacing the talents of the character’s usual actor, Clancy Brown.

This change is likely the result of developer Purple Lamp Studios sticking with the voice actor who took on the role of Mr. Krabs for the original SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. While Clancy Brown provided the voice work for the character in the animated series, Joe Whyte took on the role for the original 2003 video game.

Why is the Mr. Krabs voice actor different in SpongeBob: Rehydrated?

Joe Whyte took on two roles from the original Battle for Bikini Bottom, taking over from Clancy Brown’s Mr. Krabs and Ernest Borgnine’s Mermaid Man. Whyte does the same again in SpongeBob: Rehydrated, assuming the role of the Krusty Krab owner and the aging superhero.

So why is Mr. Krabs’ voice actor different in SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated? It doesn’t seem like there’s a big controversy at play here, considering that Clancy Brown still voices the character in the animated series to this day.

Instead, it’s likely that Purple Lamp Studios and publisher THQ Nordic opted to remain as faithful to the original game as possible. This means that even though Joe Whyte wasn’t the voice actor for the character in the animated series, he was brought back on for Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated in order to keep the game as faithful to the original as possible.

However, Whyte’s performance as Mr. Krabs isn’t solely limited to the 2003 video game and its remake. He has also voiced the character in several other video games, including SpongeBob SquarePants: Supersponge and Operation Krabby Patty. He also portrayed the character in the amusement ride SpongeBob SquarePants 4D: The Great Jelly Rescue.
