iOS 14 patch notes - all new features changelog

iOS 14 Supported Devices | Compatibility List

iOS 14 is the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system, and mobile users are eager for its release later this year. But, when it launches, only those with iOS 14 supported devices will be able to upgrade their operating system. Unfortunately, that means some older devices will not be compatible with the new version. Here’s a look at every known device compatible with iOS 14.

iOS 14 Supported and Compatible Devices

ios 14 supported devices compatibility list

Several different reports, rumors, and leaks suggest that iOS 14 will be compatible with any Apple device capable of running iOS 13. That means that most generations of iPhones from the 6s through the iPhone 11 will be able to support iOS 14. Specific leaks suggest that a number of different iPads, iPad Pros, and iPad minis are also supported, as well as the seventh-generation iPod touch.

Since the new version of the operating system should be able to run on any iOS 13 compatible device, the list of iOS 14 supported devices includes the following iPhone models:

  • 6s
  • 6s Plus
  • 7
  • 8
  • 8 Plus
  • X
  • XR
  • XS
  • XS Max
  • 11
  • 11 Pro
  • 11 Pro Max
  • SE

Beyond past iOS compatibility, a full list of iOS 14 supported devices was recently provided by noted Apple leaker Jioriku via Twitter. The list is based around an XML file hosted on an Apple server which outlined a number of devices that will be able to run the new operating system. In addition to the iPhones mentioned above, several models of iPads will be also compatible: iPad Pro models; fifth, sixth, and seventh generation iPads; fifth generation iPad minis; and the iPad mini 4. The list also names the seventh-generation iPod touch.

If your iPhone or iPad is currently running on iOS 13, your device will likely support iOS 14. The list of compatible devices dates back several generations of Apple hardware, so chances are good that you’ll be able to upgrade your operating system later this year.
