Destiny 2 Twisted Energy

Destiny 2 | How to get Twisted Energy

Twisted Energy is a new Destiny 2 currency that’s been added as part of the Season of Arrival. Twisted Energy plays a big role in upgrading the machine needed to decrypt the newly added type of engrams. There are a few ways to get Twisted Energy in Destiny 2, but there are no ways to farm it. Instead, you’re given a set trickle of the currency each week to pace your progression through the Season of Arrivals.

How to get Twisted Energy in Destiny 2

Getting Twisted Energy is essential to progressing through the Season of Arrivals. You need it to upgrade the Prismatic Recaster, which allows you access to perks that will increase the power and value of Umbral Engrams. Farming Twisted Energy isn’t a possibility at this time, and likely won’t be an option throughout the season.

There are only three ways to find Twisted Energy in Destiny 2:

  • Complete Prismatic Recaster bounties.
  • Season Pass Rank rewards.
  • Decrypting Umbral Engrams. (Requires Umbral Mastery I)

We’ll go into detail about each method below.

Get Twisted Energy by completing Prismatic Recaster bounties

Destiny 2 Twisted Energy Prismatic Recaster bounties

There are two weekly bounties available, and each pays out 500 Twisted Energy. This week they are:

  • Red End
    • Description: Defeat Cabal with damage or finishers anywhere in the system.
    • Objectives:
      • Kill 100 Cabal.
      • Perform ten finishers on Cabal
    • Rewards:
      • XP
      • 500 Twisted Energy
  • Clean Shot
    • Description: Earn points by getting precision final blows with any weapon against combatants or Guardians
    • Objectives:
      • Perform 100 precision final blows.
    • Rewards:
      • XP
      • 500 Twisted Energy

As of right now, the two weekly Prismastic Recaster bounties are the only quests in Destiny 2 that reward you Twisted Energy upon completion.

Get Twisted Energy as a Season Pass Reward

You also get Twisted Energy as a reward for several tiers of the Season Pass:

  • Rank 2: 250 Twisted Energy
  • Rank 12: 250 Twisted Energy
  • Rank 92: 1,000 Twisted Energy

Obviously, this isn’t a lot of currency, but it does help along the way.

Get Twisted Energy by decrypting Umbral Engrams

Destiny 2 Twisted Energy Umbral Mastery I

By default, you don’t get anything special from decrypting Umbral Engrams besides their contents. However, if you unlock Umbral Mastery I in the Gifts of Light & Dark upgrade screen at the Prismatic Recaster, you’ll begin receiving a small amount of Twisted Energy each time you decode an Umbral Engram.

After completing the prerequisite needed to unlock the machine, I suggest you make Umbral Mastery I your first upgrade to the Prismatic Recaster. That way, you’re generating the maximum amount of Twisted Energy possible.
