Following the release of the hotly-anticipated OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, plenty of you are wondering “is there a OnePlus 8T release date?” In this guide, we’ll let you in on if there is a confirmed release date for the OnePlus 8T or not. Is there a OnePlus 8T release date?
As of writing, there is no official confirmation that the OnePlus 8T exists, let alone a release date for the phone. The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro only just released, but that doesn’t mean we won’t see a OnePlus 8T release date before the end of 2020. Based on the September 2019 release of the 7T compared to the May 2019 release of the OnePlus 7, it’s safe to assume that the OnePlus 8T release date could be before the end of 2020, by October, even.

Whether or not there will ever be a OnePlus 8T, however, is another question entirely. As of writing, there has been no official confirmation from OnePlus that there will be an 8T at any point. Given the release of the 6T and 7T, though, it’s relatively safe to say that an 8T could release at some point. We’d be surprised if we don’t see the OnePlus 8T on store shelves by the end of 2020 based on both the 7T and 6T.
A new OnePlus event is taking place on April 17, 2020, in China. It’s thought that this could be used to announce a new cheap OnePlus 8 variant: the OnePlus 8 Lite or OnePlus Z. We wouldn’t be surprised if OnePlus announces the 8T, however. We’ll have to wait and see for now.
Would the OnePlus 8T be an upgrade on the 8 and 8 Pro?
As the 7T was an upgrade on the OnePlus 7, it’s safe to assume that the 8T will be an upgrade over the OnePlus 8. We’d imagine things like an even better screen, better cameras, and more being the spec upgrades here.
