A lot of love is being shown for Riot Games’ upcoming competitive FPS Valorant. And, as you’re likely aware, the only way to get into the game’s closed beta is by watching eligible streams. What are you supposed to after that, though? How do you redeem a Valorant key? As it turns out, there’s really not much you need to do.
How do you redeem a Valorant beta key?
In a slightly confusing twist, Riot Games isn’t technically giving out Valorant beta keys. You can certainly earn beta access, but there’s no actual key to redeem. Instead, watching Twitch streams gives you a chance to get whitelisted for Valorant’s closed beta.

We know, it doesn’t seem to make much sense. But the whole “beta key” access angle is likely just a holdover from the more traditional way of offering closed beta access. Either way, if you do manage to score Valorant access, you won’t receive a key. There’s no magic code to punch into the client in order to log into the game.
Instead, selected beta participants will automatically be granted login access to the game. This is why you have to link your Riot Games account with your Twitch account: The process is automated between the two. Shortly after you’re granted access to the beta, you’ll be able to log in and start playing — assuming you’ve already downloaded the Valorant game client, of course.
There’s no need to redeem a Valorant beta key in order to start playing the game. In fact, there’s no way to redeem anything, as selected beta participants will automatically gain access through their linked Riot Games accounts. You still need to watch eligible Twitch streams in order to participate in the beta, of course. But you won’t have to enter any codes in order for your client login to go through.
