Just to be clear, beating the game on Ultra Nightmare awards the solid gold Doom Slayer skin. In order to unlock that, you’ll be tasked with another steep challenge: Complete the Extra Life mode with 10 Extra Lives in your inventory.
If you’re not really keen on trying out the game’s most notorious challenges, fret not: There are several other unlockable outfits in Doom Eternal. The Doomicorn skin is one of the more popular choices, and it’s very easy to unlock early.

After all, the reward for completing this challenge is as brazen as it gets: A solid gold suit of armor. Talk about ostentatious. With that said, completing the campaign on Ultra Nightmare also offers another reward in the form of the Immortal banner. This way everyone you encounter will know just how capable a demon slayer you really are.
Doom Eternal‘s Ultra Nightmare difficulty is only for truly dedicated players. But if you’ve got the guts to see it through to the end, the Doom Slayer’s gold armor will be yours. Not only does the gold suit provide a certain authoritative air, it also shows that you’re not afraid to take on the game’s toughest challenges.
