Some locations in Final Fantasy 7 Remake are large enough to warrant fast travel. If you’re tired of walking everywhere, you’ll be happy to know there is fast travel in FF7 Remake, even if it’s only available for a short time. There’s also a way to expand the locations you can travel to if you’re willing to do a quick side quest.
How to unlock fast travel in Final Fantasy 7 Remake
For most of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, fast travel isn’t a possibility. The main reason for this is that there’s not a lot of backtracking. There are some chapters where you’ll roam around and have the option to complete side quests, but for the most part, the game is always pushing you forward.
When you reach Chapter 14: In Search of Hope, you’ll have the ability to roam around all of Sector 5, Sector 6, and Wall Market. This gives you a chance to tie up loose ends and complete the last barrage of odd jobs before you head up to the plate. The side quests available in that chapter take you across the full breadth of Sectors 5 and 6, so it’s handy to have a way to traverse that distance quicker than just walking.
After the scene at Aerith’s house, you’ll need to head towards Wall Market to continue the story. On the way out of the Sector 5 slums, you’ll pass by one of Chocobo Sam’s workers. Once you talk to him, you can use Sam’s Delivery Service to fast travel to a multitude of locations throughout the area.
If you want to add more fast travel locations, you’ll need to complete the Chocobo Search side quest. This will let you travel to three additional places, and you’ll get the Sam’s Delivery Lifetime Pass. This pass will allow you to fast travel as much as you want free of charge.
