Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a major hit with players, but it’s not without its problems. One of the more common issues appears to result in an inactive battle pass. What’s worse, this rank reset bug makes it seem as if your Modern Warfare level reset to 1. Is there a fix for the bug, or anything you can do to restore your battle pass progress? Read on to find out.
Modern Warfare Battle Pass Inactive | Level Reset to 1
The Modern Warfare rank reset bug shows that your battle pass is inactive. Along with a level reset to 1, this bug seems to completely lock any previous battle pass progress. Unfortunately, this is a problem that must be fixed by the developers.

Countless users across the Activision support forums and Modern Warfare subreddit have posted their experiences with the rank reset bug. As expected, they’re looking for a fix, worried that their battle pass progress will be lost forever. Thankfully, that does not appear to be the case.
Some users have reported that restarting the game and/or console fixes this problem. However, the team at Activision Support recently tweeted that the rank reset issue was resolved. It was a problem with the game software itself, not anything on the part of users. In other words, there’s nothing you need to do to fix the rank reset bug.
We resolved an issue that was affecting logins and Tier Progression. If you were affected, restart the game to fix.

With that said, if your Modern Warfare battle pass is still inactive, it’s worth opening up a ticket with Activision support. Since several users still report having their level reset to 1, it’s possible that the rank reset bug hasn’t yet been fully eliminated. Until then, try to remember that your progress is not lost. This issue won’t cause you to lose any tier progression, even if that appears to be the case for the time being.
