The Amnesia games have long been held in high esteem as some of the greatest, if not the greatest, horror titles ever made. Frictional Games’ original title, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, even played a part in launching the career of YouTuber PewDiePie and Let’s Play culture in general. It’s no wonder that the announcement of Amnesia: Rebirth is being met with fanfare, then. Having only been announced for PC and PS4, however, where does that leave horror fans looking to play Amnesia: Rebirth Xbox One and Amnesia: Rebirth Nintendo Switch versions?
In this guide, you’ll learn whether or not you can expect to scare yourself silly on Microsoft and Nintendo consoles.
Is there an Amnesia: Rebirth Xbox One version coming out?
After lots of teasing from masters of horror Frictional Games, their latest project has finally been revealed as Amnesia: Rebirth, which is described as “a new descent into darkness.” As exciting as that is, we’ve got some bad news if you’re primarily an Xbox One player. Currently, Amnesia: Rebirth has only been announced for release on PC and PS4.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that an Xbox One version won’t arrive somewhere down the line, however. Past Frictional Games titles —namely Amnesia: Collection and SOMA — have traditionally landed on PC and PS4 before slowly trickling their way to Xbox in the future.
Is there an Amnesia: Rebirth Nintendo Switch version coming out?
As is the case with an Xbox One version, no Amnesia: Rebirth Nintendo Switch port has been officially unveiled.
While there’s no Amnesia: Rebirth Nintendo Switch release date as a result, it’s worth noting that Amnesia: Collection did venture onto the platform late last year. If that bundle performed well and the hybrid Switch hardware is capable of handling it, it’s possible that Frictional could look to bring Rebirth over in due course.
