The best P90 setup in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is entirely subjective. How you setup your P90 depends mainly on what you use it for, and of course, you want it to look cool as possible. The strengths of the P90 in Modern Warfare come from its large magazine and high rate-of-fire. It’s weaknesses are shared with the other SMGs in the game. It has relatively low damage per shot, poor accuracy at long-range, and high recoil. However, depending on which P90 attachments equipped, it can be a beast at close-to-medium range.

P90 Close-Range Perks
- Quick Fix
- Ghost
- Battle Hardened
With this setup, Quick Fix lets you shrug off damage quicker and get back into the fight. Ghost will help you maneuver close to your enemies without being discovered. Lastly, Battle Hardened reduces the strength of enemy flash and stun grenades, which can help you get back into the fight faster. This perk is especially useful when a foe accidentally hits themselves with their own tactical grenade.
P90 Close-Range Field Upgrade
- Dead Silence
Since you’re looking to get in close to your enemies, Dead Silence is the best Field Upgrade you can pick. This, paired with Ghost, will make you practically invisible to your foe until you’re in visual range.
P90 Close-Range Equipment
- Lethal: Frag Grenade or Molotov Cocktail
- Tactical: Flashbang or Stun Grenade
With this P90 loadout, you’ll want to use your equipment to pre-soften your targets before you attack. The substantial splash damage of the devices above can help you throw your enemy into disarray before you dive in and make your attack.
P90 Close-Range Killsteaks

- Cluster Strike: 5 Kills
- VTOL Jet: 8 Kills
If you’re going in guns blazing, you want to use killstreaks that will help you locate your enemy, and that don’t require much input to work. You can spot enemies close-by with Personal Radar, funnel them where you want with the Cluster Strike, and have the VTOL Jet help watch your blind spots.

This class attempts to make up for some of the P90’s disadvantages with the right attachments. This includes a longer barrel to increase range and attachments that increase the gun’s Control stat.

P90 Medium-Range Perks
- Double Time
- Hardline
- Shrapnel
When using the P90 at medium-range, you’ll want high mobility as you’re at a disadvantage when facing other players at medium-long range. Double Time extends your Super Sprint duration and allows you to stay on the run when you get in a sticky situation. Hardline will augment your medium-long range firepower by allowing you to get Killstreaks a bit faster. Finally, Shrapnel will help you make up for your longer ADS time by giving you an extra piece of Lethal Equipment.

Since you’ll be playing in a campier manner with a medium-range P90, you’ll want to be able to restock on ammo if you run dry.

Since you’re keeping a little distance from your enemies with this P90 loadout, you can afford to use Killstreaks that require you to switch to an interface. You can use Precision Airstrike to clear a whole lane, and it’s especially useful in maps like Shoot House. VTOL Jet is always useful for watching your back, and Chopper Gunner is devastating when you’re trying to hold control points.
