Any game with a kind of reasonable budget behind it these days seems to offer consumers a Season Pass. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is no different. We know that the Season Pass is set to contain two original episodes to play through and one new story, too. As of writing, we know some details regarding the first episode of the Season Pass content. Unfortunately, it is hidden behind a vague “after Spring 2020” release date.

As detailed on Ryokutya2089 and translated on Gematsu, we know that the first episode of Dragon Ball Z Kakarot DLC will take us into the Super Saiyan God worlds of Dragon Ball Super. As stated above, a vague “due out sometime after spring” release date has been given. This should mean that we will have our first Dragon Ball Z Kakarot DLC release date at some point in the summer of 2020.

Typically speaking, all Season Pass content tends to release within a year of the game’s initial release date. With this in mind, we should expect the rest of the Season Pass content to release by Q1 2021. Along with what we know already (see below) there have been some rumors (as per Reddit) that we could be seeing Dragon Ball Super and/or Dragon Ball Z movie content added in as DLC, but time will tell on this.

What is the Dragon Ball Z Kakarot DLC Episode 1 release date?

Thanks to Gematsu’s translation from the most recent weekly Famitsu (linked above), we know that the first Dragon Ball Z Kakarot DLC episode should be titled “A New Awakening (Part One): Whis’ Training.” The first DLC episode will take the story into the world of Dragon Ball Super, which you should be able to play either before or after you complete the game. Its release date should be at some point after spring 2020.

In “A New Awakening (Part One): Whis’ Training,” you will be able to fight against Whis. Defeating the Whis training programme will unlock you bags of EXP as well as the ability to transform into Super Saiyan God Goku, and potentially Vegeta, too. You will be able to learn new attacks and more. You can fight Beerus, too. As the DLC is “Part One,” you can expect future DLC to be “Part Two” and onwards.
