As stated above, neither Polyphony Digital nor Sony has announced the full list of Gran Turismo Sport 1.54 patch notes. All we currently know about the update is that it is coming on Thursday, January 9, 2020. This will be following a period of Gran Turismo Sport server maintenance, however.

Gran Turismo Sport Server Maintenance January 9, 2020
You will be unable to play Gran Turismo Sport online during the morning of January 9, 2020. This is because of a period of server maintenance taking place. Thanks to the Gran Turismo Sport website for the details. The Gran Turismo Sport January 9 server maintenance will take place at the following time in the UK, at least:
- January 9, 2020:
- 6 AM to 8 AM GMT
During this time, the game’s online modes, including Sport Mode, will be unavailable. You’ll have to do something else if some online Gran Turismo Sport was your plan for tomorrow morning. Following the server maintenance, an update will roll out for the game.
Gran Turismo Sport 1.54 Update Details
Unfortunately, we don’t know what the new update is adding, changing, or fixing. As the update notes haven’t been released just a day before the patch is set to go live, however, it’s likely that it isn’t going to be a large update. Of course, we’ll update this post with more information as soon as it becomes available.

- Fixed an issue wherein by equipping different tyres on the front and rear axles it was possible to circumvent the ‘Tyre Requirement’ restrictions.
- Fixed an issue where even very slight contact or collisions were incurring a penalty.
