‘Tis the season to play Fortnite and complete the Fortnite Winterfest challenges. In this Fortnite Winterfest challenges cheat sheet, we’ll let you in on how to complete each of the 14 Days of Fortnite challenges and the rewards you should earn for doing so. Read on to discover how to complete challenges such as Search Holiday Stockings in the Winterfest Cabin, Hide inside a Sneaky Snowman in different matches, Stoke a campfire, and more.
Fortnite Winterfest Challenges Cheat Sheet | How to complete the 14 Days of Fortnite challenges
To help celebrate Christmas and get us in the holiday spirit, Epic Games has added a bunch of Fortnite Winterfest challenges into the game. New challenges will become available to complete each day for a total of 14 days and 16 challenges. Below, we’ll run you through how to complete every last one of them. We’ll also let you in on what rewards you’ll get for completing each one. Remember, folks, that other people will be trying to complete these challenges, too. As always, watch out for them while playing.

We will update this guide with more information about the Winterfest event when the new challenges go live. We’ve filled in what we know about some challenges already, which you can see below.
Stage 1 of 2: Search Holiday Stockings in the Winterfest Cabin
You just need to search the one Holiday Stocking inside of the Winterfest Cabin to complete stage one of this two-stage challenge. To get to the Winterfest Cabin, all you need to do is click on the snowflake icon on the game’s Battle Royale menu (at the top of the screen). From there, you can head into the Winterfest Cabin. Once inside the Winterfest Cabin, you will see a Christmas stocking hanging on the fireplace. Click on that and you will be able to open it (just as you would search a chest).
Completing this stage will unlock stage 2. The two stages are as follows:
- Stage 1 of 2: Search Holiday Stocking in the Winterfest Cabin (1)
- Stage 2 of 2: Deal damage to opponents with a Snowball Launcher (200)
Completing both stages of the challenge will unlock you the Grumbly Night Loading Screen. To complete stage two, you will need to find, equip, and deal 200 damage with a Snowball Launcher. This new weapon has been added in for the Winterfest event and you will find it in chests and other regular item spawn locations. Simply deal 200 damage with it to different opponents and you’ll complete this challenge. Remember, though, you’ll need to search the Holiday Stocking before you can complete stage two of this challenge and unlock the new Loading Screen.
Stoke a Campfire
It appears as though you might have to search a Holiday Stocking in most of these challenges if the first two are anything to go on. This is again a two-stage challenge with opening the Stocking coming first. Stoke just one Campfire to complete this challenge, after opening the stocking, and earn yourself a Holidays-themed banner. To stoke a Campfire, find an empty Campfire spot, light it, and then spend 30 wood on stoking it. This will speed up the healing process, too.
Eliminations with an Unvaulted Weapon
Get five eliminations with an Unvaulted Weapon to complete this challenge. It’s unclear whether this means five eliminations with the same Unvaulted Weapon or five kills with any number of different Unvaulted Weapons. Be safe and try to complete it with one for the Falling Snow Wrap.
Hide inside a Sneaky Snowman in different matches
To complete this challenge, you will need to hide inside a Sneaky Snowman in two different matches. We know for sure that you can find a couple of Sneaky Snowmen just outside of the Shiver Inn, which we’ve detailed directions to in the “Search Ammo Boxes” guide below. To hide inside a Sneaky Snowman, simply walk over to them and hold the button the game tells you to (should be the same input as searching a chest). Completing this challenge should earn you a new Shaolin Sip Emote.
You’ll also be able to find Sneaky Snowmen as floor loot and within other item spawn locations such as chests. Simply throw one down as an item or find one on the map (by Shiver Inn) and hide in it (the same input as searching any item) twice (once in two different matches) to complete this challenge.
Warm yourself by the fireplace in the Winterfest Cabin
Head to the Winterfest Cabin from the main menu (via the animated snowflake icon at the top of the screen) and warm yourself by the fire. To do this, you will need to enter the cabin and click on the fire. You may well have to hold the search input to complete the challenge.
No matter if you have to search or simply click on the fire and wait for a while, it sounds like a simple challenge to complete, however, and should reward you with the 2020 Kickflip Festive Doggo Back Bling.
Dance at Holiday trees in different Named Locations
You’ll need to dance at Holiday trees in five different Named Locations. We’ll let you in on some Holiday tree locations when we know more. Completing this challenge should earn you the Bundle Up reward.
Search a chest within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus
To complete this challenge, you will need to Simply find and search a chest within 60 seconds of landing from the Battle Bus. Drop into a zone with buildings and try to land inside a building to quickly search for a chest. You should find one easily enough. This should earn you the 2020 Kickflip Polar Patroller Back Bling.
Use Presents!
It seems as though Presents are making their glorious comeback during the Winterfest. Simply find and use two Presents to complete this challenge and unlock the Snowy Pickaxe.
Open Frozen Loot
You’ll need to find and open the Frozen Loot to complete this challenge and earn The Crackdown music tracks as a reward. We’ll update you with the whereabouts of the Frozen Loot when we know more.
Deal damage to an opponent with a Lump of Coal
It looks like a new throwable item is being put into Fortnite with the Lump of Coal. Simply find a Lump of Coal and throw it at an opponent to complete this challenge. This should unlock the 2020 Kickflip Ski Back Bling.

Search Ice Boxes
You need to search two Ice Boxes to complete this challenge. Doing so should unlock you the Polar Renegade Spray as a reward. We’ll update with more information on what Ice Boxes are and where to find them when we know.
Light a Frozen Firework found on beaches in Sweaty Sands, Craggy Gliffs, or Dirty Docks
We’ll update this with more information as we learn more. We do know that you will need light just one Frozen Firework, however, and that it should earn you the 2020 Glider as a reward.
Search Ammo Boxes at The Workshop, Shiver Inn, or Ice Throne
You’ll need to find and search two ammo boxes at any one of The Workshop, Shiver Inn, or Ice Throne. We’ve highlighted the Shiver Inn location on the map above for you to make things easier. Simply head there and search two Ammo Boxes (there should be enough to go around). You should receive a Christmas-themed Contrail for completing this challenge.
