Gameplay Changes and Fixes

Following the 1.09 update to FIFA 20 on PS4 and Xbox One, you’ll find that shots from 15.24 meters/50 feet and closer will now be less prone to error. This means that close-range shooting has been improved. The impact of ball velocity has been reduced while shooting within the box, however.

The major update has been made in the form of passing, however, not shooting. Simple ground passes have been improved. You’ll find that easy ground passes are now more accurate than they were before the update. Ground passes during free kicks, goal kicks, and corner kicks have been sped up, too, making them quicker to use. The camera should be quicker transitioning to goal and corner kicks now, too. Finally, you should now be able to switch to another player while performing a standing tackle.

Other Changes and Fixes

A new Matches Played counter is now on the Squad Battles Opponent Select screen, which shows you your first 40 played and skipped weekly competition matches. After 40 matches have been played or skipped, any further matches played won’t impact your Weekly Score until the next batch of Squad Battles begins.

On top of everything else, 29 new Star Heads have been added into the game, as well as updates to various stadiums, badges, broadcast packages, shoes, balls, ad boards, and kits have been made. FIFA 20 is more realistic than ever following this update.
