Pokemon Sword and Shield Ultimate Moves

What are the Ultimate Moves in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

Ultimate Moves are ultra-powerful attacks (hence the name) that you can teach your fully-evolved starter Pokemon. You won’t be able to teach these Ultimate Moves to any Pokemon aside from your fully-evolved starters. Sorry, we don’t make the rules. There are three Ultimate Moves that you can teach to your fully-evolved starters and they are as follows:

  • Blast Burn (Fire-type)
  • Frenzy Plant (Grass-type)
  • Hydro Cannon (Water-type)

Each of these Ultimate moves is very powerful, carrying an attack power of 150. You will need to wait a turn after using them, however, so your Pokemon can recharge.

Pokemon Sword and Shield Ultimate Moves Trainer Location

You will find the Pokemon Sword and Shield Ultimate Moves trainer location in Wyndon. He should be standing in the park below the Wyndon Stadium, to the right of the town. You’ll see him standing between some benches and just behind a neatly trimmed square hedge.

Simply talk to the Ultimate Moves trainer when you have a fully-evolved starter Pokemon in your party. He will ask you if you want that Pokemon to learn an Ultimate Move. Blast Burn for the Fire-type starter, Frenzy Plant for the Grass-type starter, and Hydro Cannon for the Water-type starter. If your fully-evolved starter Pokemon already knows four moves, it will need to forget one to learn the Ultimate Move.
