Pokemon Sword and Shield are out now and many of you are already well on your way to completing its Pokedex. To complete the full Pokemon Sword and Shield Pokedex, you will need to own both Zamazenta and Zacian. Can you catch Zamazenta in Pokemon Sword? Can you catch Zacian in Pokemon Shield? Can you catch Zamazenta in Pokemon Sword?
As far as we know, you cannot catch Zamazenta in Pokemon Sword. There doesn’t appear to be any way in which you can catch a Pokemon Sword Zamazenta, which does make our job of catching them all more difficult. As a version exclusive Legendary Pokemon, you will need to own Pokemon Shield to be able to catch Zamazenta.

If you’re desperate to complete your Pokemon Sword Pokedex, however, there is one way in which you can get hold of a Zamazenta. Trading. You should be able to pick up a Zamazenta through trading, either online or locally. Well, you should be able to if you get lucky enough to see one up for trade.
Can you catch Zacian in Pokemon Shield?
Just as you cannot catch Zamaenta in Pokemon Sword, you cannot catch Zacian in Pokemon Shield. As of writing, it appears as though the only way to catch a Zacian is by owning Pokemon Sword. Again, this does make completing your Pokemon Shield Pokedex more complicated. Thankfully, though, you should be able to get hold of a Pokemon Shield Zacian through trading, either online or locally.
If you’re lucky enough, someone will be willing to trade a Zacian with you. We’d suggest swapping Zamazenta for Zacian if you know someone with the correct game. If you’d like your Zamazenta or Zacian back, you can always trade back right away, too. Putting either Pokemon in your Pokedex for just a second will be enough to claim them towards completion.
