Pokemon Sword and Shield | How to get Gigantamax Pikachu and Eevee

Pokemon Sword and Shield introduced Gigantamax variants to the world, with the generation eight Dynamax revamp making certain Pokemon even bigger and badder than ever. Two decidedly less mean-looking Gigantamax Pokemon are the popular Pikachu and Eevee, who’ve both already starred in their own Let’s Go games on Nintendo Switch. If you’re hoping to get your hands on either of them in the Galar region — and with perfect stats to boot — check out our guide on how to get Gigantamax Pikachu and Eevee in Sword and Shield.

How to get Gigantamax Pikachu and Eevee using Let’s Go save data

Getting your hands on a Gigantamax Eevee or Gigantamax Pikachu (sometimes referred to as “Fat Pikachu”) with perfect statistics is reliant on whether or not you’ve already played a Pokemon Let’s Go game on Nintendo Switch. If you’ve played Let’s Go Pikachu you’ll be eligible for the iconic electric Pokemon, whereas if you’ve played Let’s Go Eevee you’ll instead receive the cute-as-a-button Pokemon Eevee.

Furthermore, you’ll still need to have Let’s Go save data from either game on your Nintendo Switch system for your choice of Sword or Shield to recognize that you’re a returning player. If you’re all set with the relevant save data, then you’re ready to claim your reward.

Play Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shied at your leisure until you first stop by the Wild Area station, then take note of the male NPC with the gray hoodie and green pants standing in the corner. For reference, you can see him in the image above. Speaking to this NPC will cause them to notice that you’ve played one of the Let’s Go games, after which they’ll give you the relevant starring Pokemon to accompany you on this all-new adventure.

Their perfect stats and ability to Gigantamax make either Pokemon a fantastic addition to your party.
