Death Stranding Ride With Norman Reedus Bike Reverse Trike Ride Type

Death Stranding | How to get the Ride with Norman Reedus Trike

The Reverse Trike “Ride” Type in Death Stranding is an easter egg, which is also a very useful vehicle. This Ride with Norman Reedus bike combines the extended battery power of the Reverse Trike: Long Range with the shielding of the Reverse Trike: Defensive.

You won’t find the blueprint for the Ride with Norman Reedus reverse trike like you do most designs in Death Stranding. Instead, you’ll have to scour the world in search of the memory chip that unlocks it. At least, you would if we didn’t provide the info and location below.

How to get the Ride with Norman Reedus Reverse Trike “Ride” Type in Death Stranding

Death Stranding Ride with Norman Reedus Trike Memory Chip Map

To get the blueprints for the Ride with Norman Reedus bike in Death Stranding, you’ll have to find a memory chip. We’re not talking about just grabbing any memory chip or collecting a certain amount. You’re looking for one individual chip which unlocks this Reverse Trike.

The Memory Chip you need is #31. Out of 56 total, this is the only chip that unlocks a unique blueprint. It’s not too hard to find once you know the approximate location. Still, it’s easy to overlook since it’s in a location you’d typically never visit during the course of the story.

To get Memory Chip #31, you’ll need to head to the Central Region. The easiest way to find this chip is to start at the Cosplayer’s shelter. You can find this location northwest of South Knot City and northeast of the Timefall farm.

Starting at the Cosplayer’s shelter, continue west through the canyon, and you’ll come upon an area with a waterfall. Cross the river to the other side. This can be easier said than done. As long as you’re not too loaded down, you should be able to wade across as long as you keep an eye on Sam’s stamina. Alternatively, you can use a truck, which should be able to ford the water without issue.

Once you’re on the other side, start popping your Odradek scanner. You should pretty quickly detect Memory Chip #31 nearby. It’s right beside the cliff face in a divot, and you really can’t miss it once you’re in the vicinity. If you’re still having issues finding it with your scanner, try building a watchtower. These structures can scan further than your Odradek and should pick the chip right up.

You can take the Memory Chip back to any terminal to decode it. When you do, you’ll receive the blueprint for the Reverse Trike “Ride” Type.

What’s special about the Ride with Norman Reedus Reverse Trike “Ride” Type in Death Stranding?

Death Stranding Ride with Norman Reedus Trike Wheelie

The Ride with Norman Reedus bike combines the best aspects of both the Long Range and Defensive Reverse Trikes.

The description reads:

“A custom reverse trike inspired by the TV show Ride with Norman Reedus. Fitted with an additional onboard battery and an electromagnetic shield unit. Although these are less effective than carrying separate extra battery and shield units, they maximize battery capacity, and provide protection from all forms of damage while still allowing you to carry six medium-sized pieces of cargo. This unique model has been designed to appeal to bikers everywhere – hope on and feel the adrenaline rush!”

So, not only do you get a better battery than the base Reverse Trike and shielding, you retain the cargo carrying capacity that the Long Range and Defensive types lose.

Also, Sam will yell things like, “I feel so f***ing cool right now. I feel like I’m on Ride with Norman Reedus right now.” It adds some lively ambiance to what can be a sometimes melancholy game and is some of my favorite product placement ever.
