Zangoose has finally arrived in Pokemon Go and, if you’re like us, you’ll want to know how to get Zangoose for your Pokedex. The Normal-type Pokemon has been patched in as part of the World Tourism Day event, so knowing how to catch Zangoose will be beneficial to you. Some regions of the world will have an easier time of it than others.
To find out what we mean, you’ll have to read our Zangoose Pokemon Go guide. It’ll tell you what you have to do to get Zangoose and reveal why there’s been frustration over its arrival in-game.
Zangoose Pokemon Go | World Tourism Day Field Research Issue
There’s a Zangoose Pokemon Go problem that’s affecting a few regions of the world, but we’ll get to that in just a moment. If you live in Europe, Australia, or Asia, you’ll be able to catch Zangoose easily. It’ll spawn just like any other Pokemon in the wild, so players in these regions will have a whale of a time getting it.

For North America, South America, and Africa, there’s a huge sense of frustration over Zangoose though. Zangoose doesn’t spawn in the wild here, so the only way to get it is to complete specific field research for World Tourism Day.
This is where the problem lies. The field research task for encountering Zangoose asks you to “Trade Pokemon caught 10,000 km apart.” The trading part is fine, but players have taken issue with the ridiculously long-distance part of this.
Players have taken to the Silph Road Reddit to vent their frustration at how vast this distance is. They want the distance reduced to a more manageable distance such as 5,000 km instead, but it’s highly unlikely Niantic will change this. It’s all part of the World Tourism Day event and an attempt to promote traveling to other countries to get region-specific Pokemon. Some Trainers will be able to get Zangoose, but not everyone will and that’s where the anger lies.
