Borderlands 3 Killavolt

Once you jump down, you’ll face off against Killavolt. With a name like his, and the location you’re in, you can expect to be zapped. A lot. Go up Killavolt to interact with him, give him the tokens from Moxxi, and then prepare to fight.

Killavolt is a level 16 boss, so this will be a tricky one if you aren’t at least level 13. He’ll use a shield to deflect your bullets and abilities and look to electrocute you with his gun. Dodge his attacks, including any melee strikes he tries to land, and fire rounds at him from his sides or back. These are his weak areas as they aren’t protected by the shield he carries.

Occasionally, Killavolt will cast electricity from the ceiling. These bolts will travel down onto conducting plates on the ground. If you’re in the wrong area, your shields and health will be drained as you stand on them. Make sure that you can telegraph where the bolts will land, and dodge out of their way. Stand on the plates that aren’t currently conducting them, and you’ll be safe. Killavolt will also pound the ground to unleash an electric bolt across the floor. You can jump out of the way of these to avoid getting it.

If you find yourself losing health and shields rapidly, try to stop attacking him. Simply strafe to your left or right, but ensure that you aren’t strafing in both directions. Keep pushing in one direction, and he won’t be able to line up a shot at you. This will allow your shields and health to recuperate.

Keep on the move and Killavolt will struggle to land massive hits on you. If you do end up getting defeated, don’t get downhearted. You can try again and, once you work out his pattern of attack, you’ll have a better chance of beating him in combat.

As long as you keep peppering him with shots when you can, his shield bar will eventually be depleted. Now, you can really lay into him. Give Killavolt all that you’ve got to whittle away his health bar. It shouldn’t take you long with his shields gone and, occasionally, you’ll land a critical hit that will cause him to stumble to his knees. While he’s incapacitated for a few seconds, rain down more hell.

Use every item in your inventory, including grenades and abilities, and you’ll kill him. Celebrate with all of that lovely loot that his body drops.
