Now that it has been a while since JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind came to a dramatic end, people have been wondering about the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Season 5 release date. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Season 5 Release Date | Will there be a Stone Ocean series?
As of writing, there has not been any official confirmation of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Season 5. This doesn’t mean, however, that there won’t be any Stone Ocean anime adaptation. We could well see an anime version of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6. Unfortunately, we might be waiting for quite a while yet.

According to Monsters & Critics, David Production (production house in charge of the JoJo anime) explained during Anime Expo 2019 that the company would like to develop a Stone Ocean anime, but only if the fans supported the current four seasons of the show. This would mean, too, support of the Blu-ray and DVD release of Golden Wind. Before announcing the release dates of previous JoJo seasons, David Production said similar things.
Director of the series, Naokatsu Tsuda explained during Anime Boston 2017 (thanks lorddio on Tumblr) that he “wants to do all the parts” of the manga, which is why he included all of the different JoJos in the original opening. Unfortunately, even if there is going to be a Season 5, it likely won’t be for a while yet.
David Production has its work cut out right now. Currently, the studio is developing Fire Force and Stike Witches: Road to Berlin. Both of these shows are scheduled to have lengthy episode lists. While the staffing could well be enough to dedicate themselves to three animes, it might seem unlikely. This also brings us to how long it took before Golden Wind was made after Season 3. It took around 22 months between the end of Season 3 and the start of Season 4. We could well see a similar gap between Golden Wind and Stone Ocean. Therefore, we’re expecting the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Season 5 release date to be anywhere between Summer 2020-end of 2021.
In terms of the number of episodes in Stone Ocean, we’d like to think that it would contain around the same number as Golden Wind (39). Time will tell if the series even happens, however. Hopefully, it does and sooner, rather than later. We need to see the bizarre adventures of Jolyne Cujoh.
