Signature Weapons Guide
Gaining money is fairly easy in Far Cry 3, so getting all the weapons and attachments you want early on isn't terribly difficult. Unlocking signature weapons, however, requires a lot more effort. But for the majority of them, doing so is well worth it because signature weapons tend to carry more than usual maximum of two attachments and their stats are generally much better than all of the other weapons of their specific type.

Description |
How To Unlock |
Japanese Tanto |
This blade carries more power than your standard knife, effectively increasing the damage of your melee attack. Since knife attacks go through Kevlar, heavy armored opponents should be no trouble with this weapon. |
Locate six Letters of the Lost. |
Shadow |
This pistol has the maximum accuracy rating and its bullet have as comparable power to the .44 magnum. If you like your stealth more up close and personal, this silenced weapon is one of your best bets. |
Unlock 17 of 34 outposts. (Costs $2600.) |
Shredder |
This signature SMG has similar qualities to the Vector .45 ACP but it actually has better stats. |
Locate 10 out of 20 Memory Cards. (Costs $3275.) |
Bull |
I love this gun, like I do most shotguns, but the Bull in particular is not only easy to unlock, but it demolishes everything at close range. For me, it's the best way to kill dangerous animals like leopards and bears. You might not even need to use its sight. |
Find 10 Relics. (Costs $3010.) |
Ripper |
Like most LMGs, the Ripper is about ridiculous DPS. This PKM LMG comes with a plenty of extra attachments and high stats to boot. |
Complete six Trials of the Rakyat. (Costs $4200.) |
AMR |
This modified Z93 has great accuracy and damage like most sniper rifles do. The major flaw, though, is that it's not a silenced weapon, which might defeat the purpose if you're the type that likes headshoting opponents from afar. |
Find 20 Relics. (Costs $4800.) |
Bushman |
This gun comes extremely late in the game, but it's one of the best all-around weapons, with stability, accuracy, and a silencer too. |
Remove scrambles on all 18 radio towers. (Costs $4400.) |
