Shiny Shadow Pokemon | Can I catch them in Pokemon Go?

Shiny Shadow Pokemon

Let’s have a look at the shiny Shadow Pokemon speculation that has been doing the rounds online. After the Team Rocket update went live three weeks ago, rumors started to spread on various websites, including the Silph Road Reddit page, that shiny Shadow Pokemon were a thing.

At first, most players brushed this conjecture off, but images of a shiny Shadow Bulbasaur started to emerge. This led to a back-and-forth between various community members about the validity of the picture, and led others to go searching for shiny Shadow Pokemon in the game.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any shiny variations of the Team Rocket Pokemon in Niantic’s title. The Bulbasaur image that was shared online is a fake and only serves to reinforce rumors about players being able to catch shiny versions of Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon Go.

That’s not to say that Niantic won’t patch these Pokemon through in a future update. The chances of that are extremely unlikely though. It would be strange to see a shiny version of a Shadow Pokemon, and some people’s mobile phones might not be able to handle a shiny and shadowy Pokemon on-screen, especially in AR mode.

If this does change and they become available, we’ll be the first to let you know. For now, shiny Shadow Pokemon aren’t a thing, so you don’t need to go searching for them.
