In Guild Wars 2 there are a total of eight crafting disciplines, of which you can learn two at any given
time. Since each craft specializes in making a particular item type, it is recommended that you choose
one that benefits your character. Even if you only seek profits, each discipline crafts helpful gear that
spans the entirety of the leveling experience and endgame, so depending on market conditions you can
bring invaluable items to others and earn some coin in the process.
Armorsmith
Crafts: Heavy Armor
Other: Runes, inventory boxes
Recommended for: Guardian, Warrior
Artificer
Crafts: Foci, staves, scepters, and tridents.
Other: Sigils, Potions
Recommended for: Elementalist, Mesmer, Necromancer
Chef
Crafts: Foods
Other: Dyes
Recommended for: All classes
Huntsman
Crafts: Harpoons, longbows, pistols, rifles, shortbows, torches, and warhorns
Other: Sigils
Recommended for: Engineer, Ranger
Jeweler
Crafts: Earrings, necklaces, rings
Other: Jewels
Recommended for: All classes
Leatherworker
Crafts: Medium armor
Other: Runes, leather bags
Recommended for: Engineer, Thief, Ranger
Tailor
Crafts: Light armor
Other: Runes, cloth bags
Recommended for: Elementalist, Mesmer, necromancer
Weaponsmith
Crafts: Axes, daggers, greatswords, hammers, maces, shields, spears, swords
