Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass Rewards

Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass Rewards | Skins, emotes, all the details

It’s been a long wait since since the slightly disappointing season 1, but now Apex Legends season 2 is here with a strong attempt at improving matters. A new system of daily and weekly challenges make things feel more fresh and with more to aim for, and ranked leagues gives players the push they might have needed. However, at the center of it all are the Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass rewards, complete with all the goodies players need to show off.

The Battle Pass for Apex Legends season 1 was more than a little underwhelming, so let’s see if the rewards for season 2 will make up for that. We’ve got details below on the items you’ll get for signing up to the Battle Pass, and all the skins, emotes, and more you can get for playing the game and ranking up. Are there any free rewards if you don’t want to buy the Battle Pass? Will any of this stuff return after season 2? Let’s see.

Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass Rewards | Are there any free rewards?

So you don’t want to spend any of those precious Apex Coins on the new season 2 Battle Pass do you? That’s fair enough, especially if you’re wary after the disappointment of season 1’s pass. Fortunately, even if you just participate in season 2 you’ll get a few free bonuses just for playing. You’ll get access to five Apex packs and season 2 stat trackers, which are neat, but the best free bonus is a new “Hot Rod Wattson” skin for season 2’s new Legend Wattson. You can see it above.

Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass Rewards | What do you get for buying it?

So you’ve decided to pick up the Season 2 Battle Pass? Hooray, you’ve made a good choice, but of course you’re probably wondering what it gets you. More specifically, do you get any rewards immediately, or do you have to rank up first before you see any bonuses? The good news for more casual players is that you’ll get four skins immediately as soon as you sign up for the Season 2 Battle Pass. Specifically, three character skins: Gilded Gibraltar, Valor Bangalore, Dreadnought Pathfinder. You’ll also get a Spitfire Intimidator weapon skin too. Pretty excellent, although they aren’t the only skins available…

Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass Rewards | Skins

Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass rewards skins

Possibly the most sought after rewards in the various battle passes are the awesome character skins, because they’re the things that are easiest to show off to other players. The Apex Legends season 2 Battle Pass contains multiple skins, including numerous Legendary items to unlock. These can be collected by either ranking up through the reward track, or earning enough Crafting Materials in order to create a Legendary item yourself.

Legendary skins include the “Jade Tiger” skin for Season 1’s new legend Octane (see above), and cementing his role as the villain of Apex Legends, the “Prince of Darkness” Caustic skin that basically turns him into a Sith Lord. There’s also the Iron Rampage Legendary skin for the R-301 weapon. Legendary items will be the hardest things to unlock in the Battle Pass, but they’ll be worth it.

Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass Rewards | Emotes

Forget skins for a second, this is more exciting: Season 2 introduces a brand new set of skydiving emotes to Apex Legends. Yes, while you’re dropping from the lander on to the battlefield, you can perform a range of emotes to show off to your teammates. Each Legend will receive their own special skydiving emotes, and more are available as you rank up in the battle pass during season 2. Definitely worth it.

Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass Rewards | Music packs

An interesting new addition to season 2 is the introduction of Music Packs, which can also be earned as new content in the Battle Pass. Basically, as you collect these Music Packs you can use them to change the music you hear during the starting drop, at the victory screen, and other points. They’re themed for each Legend too. Somehow we don’t think they’re going to be licensed however, if you’re hoping for the Mission: Impossible theme tune when you drop…

Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass Rewards | Loading screens

Another new type of content coming to the Battle Pass are the additional of special optional loading screens, with different variants for each Legend and how you progress through the season 2 ranks. These stylish pieces of artwork will certainly make the wait to actually play the game a little more bearable.

Will these rewards return after season 2?

Here’s the biggest question of them all: if you don’t take part in season 2, or more especially, don’t buy the season 2 Battle Pass, can you get any of the unique skins, emotes, and other rewards later? While it’s entirely possible that certain rewards may return for some random re-appearance event in the future (that’s what usually happens with rewards in free-to-play games), developer Respawn is saying that all cosmetic rewards from season 2 “will never be available again.”

While Apex packs and any content received from them will continue to show up, all the cool Legendary skins and such will (at least for now) only be available during season 2, and when that’s done they won’t return. Additionally, once the season ends, you will no longer be able to rank up the season 2 Battle Pass and get the higher-level rewards, so basically those cool Legendary items. You can earn them if you get the Battle Pass later in the season, but once it’s done, that’s it. So we suggest you get back in Apex Legends and get earning them, if you really want those emotes.
