Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Where to go After Getting Invert | Find Aegis Armor and get past spikes at entrance

When you get gravity invert in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, there are a ton of new nooks and crannies you can get into in the castle that you couldn’t reach before. However, it can be confusing to figure out just which one contains the item you need to proceed further in the game. You might not know it yet, though Dominque will clue you in eventually when you visit her, that the castle entrance is your next destination.

You can use invert to reach a long corridor filled with spikes, but the question is, how do you get past them? We’ll show you how to get the Aegis Armor once you’ve obtained invert so you can get through the spikes in the entrance area in Bloodstained Ritual of the Night.

Bloodstained Aegis Armor invert location

After you take out Orobas in the Inferno Caves, you’ll get the Invert Skill Shard. This will let you invert gravity (only for Miriam) by pressing down, up + jump. This ability enables you to walk on the ceiling as if it was the floor and is the key to reaching new heights you couldn’t previously double jump to. With this new ability, you can explore all those hard to get to places that have eluded you to this point.

After exploring all the tall places in the castle you can think of, you’ll probably find yourself stuck. Sure, you can cruise around the ceiling now, but where do you actually need to go to continue the story? Well, the answer to that question is kind of obscure, and not at all obvious.

Bloodstained Aegis Armor chest

To get the item, you need to proceed further in Bloodstained; you’ll need to head to Towers of the Twin Dragons. Head to the second tower (the rightmost one) and stand on the left edge of the screen, right before where you’ll start climbing up the tower on the spiraling ramp. Use invert here, and you’ll cruise straight up, and you should land on a ledge. You’ll see a green chest you can get to by uninverting. In this chest is the Aegis Armor which is an essential item you’ll need to get to the next area, and it’s immensely useful for the rest of the game.

The Aegis Armor nullifies all damage from environmental traps. This means that iron maidens, spikes, and swinging blades will not harm you as long as you’re wearing it. So, if you’ve seen a big, ridiculous hallway full of spikes, you can now traverse them with ease.

Bloodstained Entrance invert location

So, now that you have the Aegis Armor, you can tread on spikes without a care in the world. Unfortunately, there’s a chance you may not have found the area that your new armor is the key to yet.

Bloodstained Entrance spikes

After getting the Aegis Armor, you’re going to want to head to the tall room in the entrance area. If you invert here, you can fall upward until you land on a platform. Above this platform (under if you’re still inverted) you’ll see a long corridor filled with spikes. Now that you have you Aegis Armor, you can just walk right through it. Watch out for iron maidens when you’re traversing this area. They won’t hurt you as long as you have the Aegis Armor equipped, but they will impede your progress.

Once you’ve made it through the spike corridors, you can enter the Oriental Sorcery Lab, which takes you one step closer to completing Bloodstained Ritual of the Night.
