Dr. Mario World Nintendo Switch Release Date | Is Dr. Mario World coming to Switch?
As of writing, Dr. Mario World is only releasing on iPhone and Android smartphones on July 10, 2019. Currently, there don’t appear to be any plans regarding a Dr. Mario World Nintendo Switch release date. At least, we haven’t heard anything from Nintendo regarding a Dr. Mario World Switch port. This doesn’t mean, however, that a Dr. Mario World Switch version will never happen.
Nintendo could release a version of Dr. Mario World on Switch. It wouldn’t be the first mobile phone game to make the jump to the hybrid platform, either. Thanks to its touchscreen and ability to play in a portrait view, smartphone games could easily be ported to the Nintendo Switch. Dr. Mario World could rather easily make the transition to the Switch. It does seem unlikely, though.
Nintendo has yet to port any of its smartphone games to the Switch. For the Big N, smartphone games appear to stay on smartphones. We haven’t received a Super Mario Run or Fire Emblem Heroes Switch port, for example. A touchscreen-only smartphone game could be ported to the Switch, but it would be a little unwieldy to play compared to the more compact smartphone designs. Nintendo is perhaps more likely to develop a Switch unique Dr. Mario game. If you want a Dr. Mario fix on Switch, you can play the NES original thanks to the Nintendo Switch Online collection of NES games.
Nintendo could theoretically port Dr. Mario World to Nintendo Switch, but without official confirmation one way or the other, we’re filing this one under potentially doable, but unlikely.
