Is Outer Wilds multiplayer?
Mobius Digital and Annapurna Interactive’s Outer Wilds has you exploring several dangerous planets in a tricky time loop. Space exploration can be difficult and the vast expanses can be a lonely place to spend some time. This is why plenty of you are wondering whether or not if there is any kind of Outer Wilds multiplayer. Can you explore the planets of Outer Wilds with someone else in co-op? Is Outer Wilds multiplayer? Sadly, the answer to both questions is no. There is no Outer Wilds multiplayer and there is no Outer Wilds co-op.
As of writing, you cannot explore the planets of Outer Wilds with another player in co-op. Nor is there any kind of multiplayer mode in the game. This doesn’t mean, however, that there will never be any multiplayer offerings in the game. in future, though.
We’re living in the times of updates and DLC. We wouldn’t be too surprised to see the game’s developers decide to add in a multiplayer mode or co-op to the game at some stage in the future. Don’t count on it, however. The game has gone through something of development hell to even release in the first place. Outer Wilds will likely never feature any kind of multiplayer mode.
