Final Fantasy 7 Remake Voice Actors | Who plays the voices in FF7 Remake

Thanks to a hefty dump of new information during E3, we know a lot more about the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake, including a release date, how the game will be broken down, and of course, who is voicing the game’s main cast of characters. Of course, as with any new game, it’s always interesting to see what people have worked on before, as it can often give you an idea of what to expect out of the voice actor or their performance. Below we’ll break down all of the current Final Fantasy 7 Remake voice actors that we know about, as well as include any additional updates as they are made known.

Cloud Strife | Cody Christian

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Voice actors - Cloud

Probably most well-known for his stint as Theo Raeken on Teen Wolf(2015-2017), Cody Christian will take on the role of Cloud Strife, one of the most iconic characters to appear in the Final Fantasy series. While he is a younger actor compared to some, Christian has appeared in various titles since he began acting in 2006’s short, The Profound Mysteries of Tommy Kuglar. Since that first appearance Christian has appeared in 22 different projects, including a role as Mike Montgomery on Pretty Little Liars (2010-2015). It’s possible that fans of the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake have also seen Christian as Asher Adams in All American (2018-2019).

Barret | John Eric Bentley

Final Fantasy 7 Remake voice actors - Barret

Coming in as the next on the list of newly revealed Final Fantasy 7 Remake voice actors is John Eric Bentley, who will take on the role of Barret Wallace, another of the main characters appearing in the upcoming remake. Unlike Christian, Bentley has been around much longer, scoring 169 credits to his name in the acting industry. These credits include a lot of smaller roles like voicing the population in 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2. Though, Bentley did play Nick Fury in 2014’s Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers TV series. While he’s definitely had more experience lending a hand to the background voices of various games, just based on his long list of credits, Bentley is more than ready to step up to the plate and give Barret a voice when Final Fantasy 7 Remake arrives next year.

Aerith | Briana White

Final Fantasy 7 Remake voice actors - Aerith

This next entry on the list of Final Fantasy 7 Remake voice actors isn’t nearly as experienced as some, but Final Fantasy 7 fans shouldn’t write her off just yet. While she only has 20 credits to her name according to IMDB, Briana White has appeared in various shorts, and even snagged a couple of guest appearances on shows like Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, as Jessica Townsend. She currently has a new TV movie in post-production as well as her role as Aerith Gainsborough listed in her credits.

Tifa | Britt Baron

Final Fantasy 7 Remake voice actors - Tifa

Another actress with a short list of credits, Britt Baron has appeared in Destiny 2: Forsaken as the gun-centric Ada-1. She’s also made appearances in several other games, including Agents of Mayhem in 2017, Dishonored 2 in 2016, and Halo 5: Guardians (2015). Fans of the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake will most likely recall her as Justine Biagi in Glow, an ongoing Netflix series. Baron has also made some smaller appearances in the television shows Lucifer, Young Justice, and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. Britt Baron will bring fan favorite Tifa Lockhart to life in the upcoming remake.

Jessie | Erica Lindbeck

Moving down our list of Final Fantasy 7 Remake voice actors, it’s time to take a look at another fairly well-known actress. Having over 130 credits to her name, Erica Lindbeck has made appearances in games like 2019’s Far Cry New Dawn, Anthem (2019), and even Team Sonic Racing (2019). Lindbeck has also filled the roles of characters like Dr. Jane Foster in the Avengers Assemble TV series, appearing in episodes from 2017-2018. Nintendo Fans who spent a good deal of time in 2017’s Fire Emblem Heroes will be pleased to know that she helped bring Celica to life in the mobile version of the game, while also appearing as Anemone in NieR: Automata.

Erica Lindbeck will help bring Jessie to life in the English version of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and fans can hear more from her as we grow closer to the game’s release date next year.

Biggs | Gideon Emery

With over 200 credits to his name, the next entry on our list of Final Fantasy 7 Remake voice actors is one worth keeping an eye on. Not only has Gideon Emery helped bring characters to life in hit shows like Netflix’s Daredevil, but he’s also appeared in numerous video games since his first credit in 1994. Emery’s credits include roles like Overseer Travagg in 2004’s Everquest 2, Balthier in Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions from 2007, and Captain Gavorn in 2010’s Mass Effect 2. Gamers have also seen Emery help bring characters like Poseidon in God of War 3 (2010). Fans can see Gideon Emery bring Biggs to life in the English version of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake next year.

Wedge | Matt Jones

This next actor helped bring Badger to life in AMC’s hit show, Breaking Bad. Aside from that, Matt Jones has scored over 70 credits throughout his career, including appearing in the Tron: Uprising television series from 2012-2013. Other credits on Jones’ resume include his stint as Ned Dorneget on NCIS, where he appeared several times throughout the show’s long-running history. Matt Jones hasn’t spent much time helping bring video game characters to life, but he has played a multitude of roles since his first credit in Gilmore Girls back in 2002. Jones will help bring Wedge to life when the English version of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake hits next year.

Sephiroth | Tyler Hoechlin

Final Fantasy 7 remake voice actors - Sephiroth

Finally, the last big entry on our list of Final Fantasy 7 Remake voice actors is Sephiroth. As the big bad of the game’s entire narrative, it was important that Square Enix chose someone who fit the part to help bring this iconic character to life. While Tyler Hoechlin doesn’t have the longest list of credits in the acting world, he’s more than proven his skill as an actor in shows like Supergirl, Teen Wolf, and the early 2000s drama, Seventh Heaven. More recently he’s helped bring Clark Kent/Superman to life in The CW’s Supergirl, and he’s set to appear in the upcoming projects Can You Keep a Secret? and Palm Springs.

As you can see, Square Enix has chosen a very interesting set of voice actors to help bring the Final Fantasy 7 Remake to life. We are, of course, always on the look out for new voice actors to appear, and with two blu-ray discs full of content coming, it probably won’t be long before more details about the upcoming overhaul of one of gaming’s most iconic titles continues to dribble out. Stay vigilant Final Fantasy fans, and make sure you keep your eyes glued to GameRevolution for any additional updates in the coming months.
