Fully announced by Apple at its WWDC 2019 keynote, iOS 13 is bringing with it many new updates, features, and upgrades to your iPhone experience in 2019. What is, however, the iOS 13 release date? iOS 13 Release Date and Time
Heading over to Apple’s official iOS 13 Preview page, however, confirms that iOS 13 is releasing this Fall. Anyone who owns the iPod touch (7th generation), iPhone SE, 6s, and newer will be able to update their iOS to version 13 this Fall. Unfortunately, if you own an iPhone 6, 6 Plus or older you won’t be able to update to iOS 13. Have a read through our news story on what’s included in iOS 13. Before then, however, Apple is rolling out iOS 13 betas that you can take part in. Starting today, June 3, paying Apple developers can take part in the first of three iOS 13 beta periods. It’s advised, however, that you should not take part in this private paid developer beta with your primary device as it could make your iPhone unstable. It costs $99 to set up a developer account, too.
In July, Apple will be releasing an iOS 13 public beta. You can find out how to sign up for this right here. Simply click on that link and sign in with an iCloud account or Apple ID and accept the Apple Beta Software Program Agreement when signing up for it. A week before the full iOS 13 release takes place, anyone in the public beta or developer beta will have access to the entire release. If you’re not particularly interested in development or can wait a couple of months, we’d recommend waiting for the full iOS 13 release date. This will ensure you don’t mess up your current iPhone in any way.
How to Download iOS 13 Update
If you have access to either the developer or public iOS 13 betas, updating to the new firmware should be easy. Once you are enrolled in either beta program, simply head to the iOS Software Update option on your phone and download away.
