Fortnite x Stranger Things | Season 3 crossover event rumors
You may be confused about what the deal is over this apparent Fortnite x Stranger Things event. Well, Season 9 brought a host of changes to the game’s map and players have unearthed something that might just be a tease for a Stranger Things crossover event, as per Fortnite News.
The upcoming third season of Netflix’s hit show will feature an ice cream parlor in a newly opened mall, in the town of Hawkins, Indiana, called Scoops Ahoy. If you’re wondering what that has to do with Fortnite, it turns out that this dessert restaurant is present on its map.
The image above shows that Scoops Ahoy can be visited in-game already after it was added to the Mega Mall section of the Season 9 map. If that’s not an obvious tease for a Stranger Things tie-in, we don’t know what is.
Fortnite x Stranger Things | Release date
Now that you’re convinced about a Fortnite x Stranger Things event, you’ll want to know when its release date is. Suffice to say, there isn’t one yet as Epic hasn’t officially announced its arrival.
We can determine when it could be inbound though. Stranger Things season 3 will drop on Netflix on July 4 i.e. Independence Day. July 4 falls on a Thursday this year so, using our smart brains, the possible LTM could be patched in on this day.
Other LTM events, such as the recent Endgame one, have been patched in around their movie’s release date. We’d be shocked if this rumored Stranger Things event doesn’t go live on the day of Season 3’s release, or even a couple of days before. If we find out anything official before July 4, we’ll be sure to let you know.
