Launch off of Air Vents in different matches
Air Vents have replaced Season 8’s Volcano Vents for obvious, lava-spewing reasons. While they can be found dotted all over the map, there are certain places you can go to Launch off of Air Vents in super quick time.
Head over to either Neo Tilted, one of the big Fortnite season 9 map changes on offer, or Mega Mall, and you’ll find each location positively littered with Air Vents.
However, be mindful of the fact that A) These places are bound to be popular and B) You need to do this across five matches, though they don’t need to be consecutive, and you can use the same Air Vent more than once. Just walk into one to be shot up into the air.
Stage 1: Land at Snobby Shores
This is a five-stage task, requiring you to land at the following five locations. Once you’ve done Stage 1, Stage 2 will unlock, and so on. These do not need to be done in consecutive games, but you should aim for landing right in the middle of these locations for the avoidance of doubt. Just glide on down from the Battle Bus and you should be able to line it up with plenty of time to spare.

- Stage 2: Land at Fatal Fields
- Stage 3: Land at Sunny Steps
- Stage 4: Land at Dusty Divot
- Stage 5: Land at Happy Hamlet
Eliminate Opponents in Sunny Steps or Shifty Shafts
Potentially one of the trickiest challenges in week 2 of season 9, depending on how quick your trigger finger is. You need to eliminate three opponents in the area(s) listed above, though not in the same game, thankfully.
To get ahead of the curve on this challenge, it’s probably recommended that you scope out the trio of Aztec-style temples in Sunny Steps for some easiy kills. That should not only prove to be like shooting fish in a barrel, but it’ll conveniently count towards one of the Battle Pass challenges (more on that later).
As for Shifty Shafts, it’s a far more tightly-packed area, so it might be one to avoid entirely if you’re struggling. However, if you do want to chance your arm, heading towards the depths in the minecart area wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world as you’re more likely than not to get the drop on an unsuspecting foe.
Deal Damage with Pistols to Opponents (500)
This one is pretty self-explanatory but, of course, pistols aren’t always the go-to weapon of choice if you’re looking to get a Victory Royale on top of your week 2 Challenges.
Having said that, aim (pun absolutely intended) to grab the Hand Cannon and use it with impunity. Even a quick shot at someone should take off 75 damage. Do that once or twice a game for a handful of games and, even if you’re not really trying, you should be A-OK when it comes to completing this pistol challenge.

Visit an Oversized Phone, a big Piano, and a giant Dancing Fish trophy
Almost definitely the trickiest challenge this week. To complete this, you’re going to need to find an Oversized Phone, a big Piano and a giant Fish trophy.
The Oversized Phone is easy enough. While there’s technically two on the map, the one in the tundra climate just south-west of Fatal Fields is by far the easiest to find.
The big Piano meanwhile, has two possible locations. Head west of Pleasant Park for a pleasant tune, though.
Meanwhile, the giant Fish trophy is a lot harder to find. Go to the eastern section of Mega Mall. There, you’ll find three dancing fish trophies. You’re going to want to find the giant one hanging out on the side of one of the buildings.
Search a Chest in Different Named Locations in a single match
We don’t have the intel on this one just yet, but don’t expect it to be too difficult. Simply head to wherever the game tells you and rapidly start opening any chests you can find and, as soon as that’s done, make your way onto the next location without so much as looking around for loot.
Stage 1: Eliminate an Opponent from at least 50m away
This is another stage challenge, requiring you to kill someone from 50m away, then 75m and, finally 100m.
Obviously, you’ll need a scoped weapon and a steady hand for this one. Try and seek out the Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle or the Heavy Sniper if you can. From there, you’re (dare I say it) going to want to camp in densely populated areas. Neo Tilted and Mega Mall will be primo spots for the next few weeks as they’re new and shiny. Find a secluded spot, take aim, and fire.
And that’s it for the Fortnite season 9 week 2 challenges! Complete them all and you’ll net yourself a cool 50 Battle Stars.
