A new Battlefield 5 leak has revealed that there are some potential new updates headed to Battlefield 5. Among the leaked Battlefield 5 updates is a new basic training mode, new potential maps, and changes to Firestorm. Below are the highlights from the leak, however, please remember that this is simply a leak and none of the information has been confirmed by DICE.
Battlefield 5 leak highlights
This leaked information comes from Reddit user Temporyal. Among other specifics, the data mined information concerns the new Basic Training Mode as well as the new Mercury and Marita locations. Find the details below.
Basic Training Mode
Despite releasing in November, it appears that there will be a new Basic Training mode heading to Battlefield 5 to serve as a walkthrough for new players. The training will be in the form of a mission and will explain how to play Conquest. It will also cover various details like classes, objectives, weak spots, and other gameplay mechanics. It seems this feature is heading to the game a bit late, but for anyone who hasn’t played the game yet, this should be a big help.
Mercury and Marita Locations
A bunch of new locations have been discovered in the latest patch that likely relates to the upcoming Mercury and Marita maps. Firestorm Map Expansion
Based on the X and Y coordinates of the Firestorm map, Temporyal believes that the map will be expanded as the battle royale mode continues to evolve. Essentially, he thinks that the map was originally twice as big as it currently is and that DICE will use that to expand the map in the future, adding in new locations. However, it is worth noting that this could just be scrapped development parts of the map that DICE never bothered to clean up.
It was just recently announced that duos would be permanently returning to Battlefield 5. So, it will be interesting to see if they decide to expand the map any, or leave it how it is.
