Fortnite The Floor is Lava LTM Announced | Release date and how to play

An all-new limited-time game mode is making its way to Fortnite Battle Royale in the near future. The new Fortnite The Floor is Lava LTM has officially been announced as the latest addition to the game. Appearing in the news section in the opening of the game, The Floor is Lava LTM instructs players that they will need to “get to high ground or build above the lava that’s overtaking the island.” We’ve got a complete rundown for you surrounding a release date and how to play the new Fortnite Floor is Lava LTM.

How to play the new Fortnite The Floor is Lava LTM

While Epic Games hasn’t really commented on the new game mode aside from the in-game announcement, it seems that Fortnite’s Floor is Lava LTM is going to be very similar to the game that you used to play as a kid. Come on, you remember jumping onto furniture at school with your classmates to avoid the hot lava floor, then promptly getting in trouble with your teacher.

Well, if you don’t, no worries. The rules of the game are pretty simple: Avoid the floor at all cost. If you touch the floor, you get burned alive in the lava. Of course, Fortnite has put its own twist on the game for the new LTM. It seems that a volcano has erupted, causing lava to flow uncontrollably over the island. You must run, jump, and build to safety to avoid meeting a fiery fate. Of course, you’ll also need to watch out for fellow players who will be trying to shoot at you while you’re attempting to evade the fiery beast.

When is The Floor is Lava LTM coming to Fortnite?

No official release date has been given yet for The Floor is Lava LTM, so it is hard to say exactly when it will be here. However, since the announcement has appeared in the in-game “News” screen, it’s safe to imagine that it’ll show up pretty soon. Additionally, an Epic employee posted preview notes on Reddit for the v8.20 patch notes two days ago, so it’s possible the new game mode will be pushed out with that update. A release date for the patch notes wasn’t given, but if they’re putting the info out about it now, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it arrive shortly. Whether it is coming with the next patch or not, we do know for sure that The Floor is Lava LTM will be making its way to Fortnite soon
