The Division 2 Dark Zone Balance | How does The Dark Zone work?

The Division 2 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Many aspects have been added to over the original game, not least the new-and-improved The Division 2 Dark Zones. Alongside the addition of a further two Dark Zones to explore, changes have been made to The Division 2 Dark Zone balance. Read on to discover exactly how The Dark Zones in The Division 2 are balanced.

The Division 2 Dark Zone balance | How to unlock The Dark Zones

The Division 2 Dark Zone Balance

Before finding out how the new-and-improved Dark Zone balance works, you will want to know how to unlock the three Dark Zones. To unlock each Dark Zone, you will first need to complete an intro mission. Complete each of the three Dark Zone intro missions and you will unlock all three Dark Zones to explore. We’d recommend you head into any of the three Dark Zones with a team, however. It’s dangerous to go alone.

Although the Dark Zones are balanced to ensure more of a level playing field than in the first The Division, you might want to unlock some good skill and weapon slots before diving in. You’ll never know what skills and mods other players are using.

Once you think you’re ready, you can head into any of the three Dark Zones. To make things fair, however, some balancing has gone on behind the scenes. While everyone will have their own Agent Skills and Weapon Mods attached, all players in the Dark Zone will share the same weapon and gear stats.

This means that no matter how powerful your gun or gear is in the campaign, it will be the same as everyone else’s in the Dark Zones. You can alter things through mods and skills, but it won’t affect how strong your weapon is, or how good your gear is. Ubisoft threw in this change to ensure more of a level playing field for all Agents inside of the Dark Zone. All is fair in love and war, after all. Happy hunting.
