An Anthem PC day one patch launch error is stopping players from being able to, well, play the game. Considering the game launches fully for everyone on February 22, having players stuck to a point where they can’t play Anthem isn’t exactly what BioWare or EA will want to see or hear. Find out what the Anthem PC day one patch launch error fix is with our help.
What is the Anthem PC Day One Patch launch error?
The Anthem PC Day One Patch launch error is exactly what it sounds like. Players who already had acces to the game, and who had been playing it for almost a week, can’t load it without Anthem crashing. As a result, there’s plenty of frustration that the game can’t be played despite the day one patch.
Threads have been popping up all over the EA bugs report and technical issues forums, with users aggrieved that they can’t even play. For those who are yet to sample Anthem too, if the issue isn’t resolved by release day they won’t be able to play either.
Anthem PC Day One Patch launch error fix
Thankfully, there is a workaround and fix that you can try if you get stuck with the Anthem PC Day One Patch launch error. This only works if you’re playing the game on Origin, however, so you’re out of luck if you’re playing on console.
If you’re an Origin user, you need to head to the main Anthem folder on your hard drive. From there, delete the “anthem.exe” file. Once you’ve done that, load up Origin. The programme will repair the game as it won’t have the exact file it needs to launch it. The download won’t take long and, once it’s installed, you should be able to play again.
For those who don’t play on Origin, you’ll have to wait for an official fix. If the problem is as widespread as it appears though, it’ll be a top priority for BioWare, so we can expect a small update that fixes this in time for release day.
