The Division 2 Beta download | How to download the beta

The Division 2 beta is up and running right now, and players from around the world are getting their hands on Ubisoft’s latest online shooter for the first time. If you want to join in on the fun, first you’ll need to actually get it. How exactly do you get a The Division 2 beta download, and when you’ve got the beta, how do you download and play it? We’ve got the exact steps you’ll need to take for each of the game’s platforms (PC, Xbox One, and PS4) below.

The Division 2 beta download on PC

There are two ways to get into the private beta on PC: by pre-ordering, and by getting specially selected to receive a code. If you pre-ordered digitally by Ubisoft’s own Uplay client then it will be immediately available in your game library, you don’t need any special code, so just install that and get playing. If you pre-ordered on the Epic Games Store, Epic will send you an email with the code to access the beta. If you didn’t receive it, check your spam folder, or you’ll need to talk to Epic customer support. Make sure you have your receipt handy.

Likewise, if you pre-ordered the game at a retail store, you should have been provided with a code to access the beta, probably in the game’s case. You can redeem that code here. After that, you should either receive an email from Ubisoft with a code for the beta, or the beta will just appear in the “My Games” section of the Uplay client. Since the PC version is mostly about digital, this is the easiest platform to get the beta on. If it’s not in the client already, click the menu button in the top left corner of Uplay, select “Activate a Key,” and input your code here.

There are three ways to get access to The Division 2 private beta on PS4: digital pre-order, retail pre-order, and being selected for beta access. If you’ve pre-ordered the full game digitally by PSN, you should see The Division 2 Private Beta appear in your main library. If it’s not there, scroll all the way down to the end of the menu, choose “Library” and then check under “Purchased.” You can also head to the main store page for The Division 2, where you should be able to download it manually.

If you bought the game from a retail store, that store should provide you with an access code for the private beta. The code will probably either be on your receipt, in the game’s box, or emailed to you if you provided your email address (if so, check your spam folder). You can redeem this code here, and you’ll be emailed a beta key by Ubisoft. Go to the PlayStation Store page, scroll down the sidebar to “Redeem Codes,” input the key you were sent, then select “Redeem.” On the other hand, if you were lucky enough to be selected for the beta, either you’ll be emailed a beta key or you can login and grab the key manually here. Redeem it as we outlined above.

How to download The Division 2 beta on Xbox One

The Xbox One guidelines for downloading The Division 2 beta are much the same as on PS4. If you pre-ordered the game digitally on the Xbox Store, the Private Beta should be immediately visible in your game library. You can search your previous purchases page, or head to The Division 2 Xbox store page and trigger the beta download manually there.

If you pre-ordered from a retail store, that store should provide you with an access code for the private beta. The code should be on your receipt, in the game’s box, or emailed to you if you provided your email address. You can redeem this code here, then you’ll get emailed a beta key which you can redeem on the Xbox Store here. Now The Division 2 private beta should appear on your Xbox One library. You can also get a beta key if you were selected for it by registering at the game’s website, and if so you can find the key attached to your account if it wasn’t emailed to you. Provided you opted for the Xbox beta, redeem it here and get downloading.
