Apex Legends, the latest game from Titanfall creators Respawn, is a free-to-play battle royale game set in the Titanfall universe, and it’s out right now. However, it’s a little difficult to get hold of at this moment in time. Not necessarily because it’s just come out and is being downloaded a lot, which it certainly is, but also because it’s actually tricky to locate in digital stores. This is true across PC, Xbox One, and PS4, and in some cases you may not even be able to search for it. Here’s our Apex Legends download guide on how to find the game on all three platforms.
Apex Legends download – How to download on PC
The first and most important point regarding downloading Apex Legends on PC is that you’ll need to download EA’s Origin digital client, install it, and setup a username and password, if you haven’t done all that already. Respawn is an EA-owned studio, so Respawn’s games are exclusive to EA’s own Origin storefront on PC.
Once you’ve done that, load up Origin, and click on “Store” if it doesn’t go there automatically. You may see Apex Legends on the front page, but if not, just type the game’s name into the search box on the left. It should come up immediately. Click on the game, click the orange “Add to Library” button (which will add the game to your own Origin Games Library), then you should get a pop-up asking if you want to download the game. Click the orange button and wait for it to download!
How to download Apex Legends on PS4
Apex Legends download on PS4 can be a tricky one. First, load up your PS4 and head to the PlayStation Store. Now, Apex Legends will not be immediately obvious on the Store. For some people, you can navigate to the Search box at the top of the page and put in the game’s name to find it. However, when we tried to do this Apex Legends wouldn’t show up, for some reason. Instead, we scrolled down the Store menu until we hit the “Free” section, then from there selected “Free to Play.” Apex Legends was the first one that popped up. Choose it and install it.
How to download Apex Legends on Xbox One
From what we can tell, downloading Apex Legends on Xbox One is the easiest of the three platforms. Power up your Xbox One, then head to the Microsoft Store. Go to the Search bar, and type in the game’s name. It should also be around the storefront, perhaps under the “All New Games” list. Select it, the game’s page will tell you it’s free in place of the usual purchase button, then click on that to download Apex Legends to your Xbox One. Easy.
