The Sewer Key in Resident Evil 2 remake can be used to unlock two doors in the upper level of the sewers. You’ll see these two doors early on, but you’ll get no indicator of where the key is to unlock them. Fortunately, it’s not too tough to get to, and we’ll give you the Sewer Key location in Resident Evil 2 and how to get there below.
Where is the Sewer Key location in Resident Evil 2?
You’ll notice that two doors on the upper level of the sewers need a key to open them. However, you’ll find the key far from the doors you need it for. To find the Sewer Key in Resident Evil 2, you’ll have to play until you reach the Monitor Room.
Once you reach the Monitor Room, head through the east door into the Treatment Pool Room. Make sure to grab the T-Shaped Handle from near the Cable Car. Then, you’ll then need to continue east and head through the door leading to the Lower Level of the sewers.
When you reach the bottom of the steps here, the path will fork into a left and right path. Head left, and you’ll descend another small flight of stairs. You’ll see a gate here you can open by using the T-Shaped Handle on the mechanism next to it. Once through, cross over the bridge, and you’ll see a small work area against the south wall.
You can find the Sewer Key in the key box above the table.
There are two doors you can unlock using the Sewer Key in Resident Evil 2:
Water Injection Chamber
Workers’ Break Room
Both doors are located in the Upper Sewers in the section where you find the Rook Plug.
The Water Injection Chamber contains a roll of film you can develop to find two hidden item locations in the RPD. One of the two items is a weapons upgrade, so it’s definitely worth it to pursue.
The second door, the Workers’ Break Room, contains an elevator hidden behind a locker on the east wall. This elevator will take you back up to the Underground Facility and allow you to reenter the RPD via the Secret Room under the statue. Very useful if you want to go back and grab any items you left behind.
