Black Ops 4 Blackout EMP Grenades | When will they be added?

Call of Duty Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode Blackout has been on the receiving end of many updates since the game released in October 2018. New weapons, characters, and more have made their way into Blackout, and now it seems as though Black Ops 4 Blackout EMP Grenades could be on the way. Read on to find out what EMP Grenades in Blackout could do and when they might be on the way.

While it’s not 100 percent guaranteed, it appears as though EMP Grenades are on the way to Black Ops 4 Blackout. This is, if David Vonderhaar’s (Treyarch design director) quotes on the matter are anything to go on (thanks CharlieIntel). Vonderhaar even goes into a little detail into what he thinks the EMP Grenades shouldn’t do.

Vonderhaar explains that while he “personally [doesn’t] think the EMP should remove player names,” he does “think the EMP could be an interesting addition to Blackout.” Speaking on when EMP Grenades could find themselves in Blackout, however, Vonderhaar wasn’t specific. “It’s on the schedule, but a bit downstream and lower priority than some other things.”

Although Vonderhaar didn’t go so far as announcing when EMP Grenades are coming to Blackout, it does seem like they will eventually arrive. Hopefully, sooner rather than later.

As of writing, there aren’t too many effective ways of dealing with vehicles in Blackout. An EMP Grenade would be used to disable anything electronic. EMP Grenades in Blackout could disable vehicles, targeting reticles, mesh mines, mini-maps, and anything else that uses electricity. We don’t know exactly what they will do when they are added, but as stated above, EMP Grenades in Blackout likely won’t remove player names.

For everything Black Ops 4, keep on keeping on GameRevolution.
