Red Dead Redemption 2 update 1.05

Red Dead Redemption 2 Update 1.05 Patch Notes

Red Dead Redemption 2 has been out a little while now, and Rockstar continues to improve the game with new patches and fixes. With the addition of Red Dead Online, the developer has even more to keep its staff busy, even if the online mode’s still only in beta. The previous patch this week, update 1.04, added various fixes for numerous issues connected with both the game’s story mode and online mode. Now Red Dead Redemption 2 update 1.05 has arrived, just a few days later. So what’s in this one?

Red Dead Redemption 2 Update 1.05 Patch Notes

Sadly, as usual Rockstar has provided no official patch notes for Red Dead Redemption 2 Update 1.05, or at least nothing specific. The only patch note available is available on the PS4 dashboard, along with the 1.05 patch, and it simply says the update provides, “Red Dead Online Beta bug fixes and improvements.”

Obviously, that’s not very helpful for anyone hoping for fixes to specific problems, such as the “sell to butcher” error some players in the online mode are experiencing. At least we know that this particular update is for Red Dead Online only. Patch 1.05 comes in at around 830 MB on the PS4 and 1.3 GB on the Xbox One, so it’s a sizeable update for sure, if not as big as previous patches.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Update 1.05 Rumored Changes

In the absence of any official patch notes right now, some players have started suggesting issues that may have been fixed in the 1.05 update. One player in Red Dead Online noticed that horse stamina doesn’t appear to be draining for them as quickly, and another user replied that Rockstar seems to have fixed all existing issues players had with their horses in the Online mode, such as horse bonding resetting every time players log in. We’ll find out if these are true when Rockstar releases its official patch notes for update 1.05.

Update: Rockstar has released the patch notes for Red Dead Redemption update 1.05 on its website. The only thing the notes contain is one entry that reads:

  • General improvements to fix game stability, save data and to address exploits.
